The STEM Transition Year Challenge is a hybrid event, where a consortium of companies provide mentors to work with student groups on STEM-related projects, facilitating immersive and practical learnings and insights into the many possibilities that exist within STEM. The project work culminates in the creation of a "Day in the Life of STEM" video by each of the student groups.
The program is built on the core foundational elements listed below. Partnering companies, schools and participants will benefit from each aspect of the experience.
We have events to support all participants leading up to an in-person showcase event . Each event listed below is to support the growth and development of participants.
Participants will develop the skills to help you further their career, make meaningful connections with peers and succeed as leaders in STEM.
This program is extremely rewarding to be involved in and I really enjoyed working with such talented transition year students. It gave me first-hand insights into the students’ perspectives about what a career in STEM looks like to them as well as the challenges they believe they will have to overcome to achieve this. As mentors we are able to share our knowledge on what a career in STEM is like and passing on the tips that we’ve picked up along the way to help shape the futures of these students.
